  • Donation policy: all entries are donated to the Expo for public tasting after the winners are announced.

Judging and Awards

The panel: your honey will be evaluated by 7 different judges.
Timeline: judging begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
Prizes: winners receive ribbons and a plaque, displayed throughout the remainder of the Expo.

Quick Tips for Competitors

Pro tip: before sealing your jar, use a flashlight to check for debris or air bubbles at the top. Judges often look for clarity and a clean fill line (right to the bottom of the threads) before they even take a taste.

Good luck, and we hope you take home the plaque.
